Hey everyone,

Can't believe it's already been two weeks since I landed in Japan. Feels like no time at all and also like a lifetime, if that makes sense.

Honestly the best part so far has just been getting to know the team. We've been through a lot together already, even in a short time — early mornings, long days, and way more cleaning than I ever expected mission work to involve. But it's brought us close fast, and I'm really grateful for the people I get to do this with.

We've gotten out and done some evangelism too, which has honestly been a bit of a learning curve. Conversations here look different than they do back home — a lot more listening, a lot more patience, figuring things out as I go. It's stretching me, but in a good way.

Probably my favorite moment so far, though? Playing soccer with some of the local kids. Turns out a soccer ball needs zero translation — we were laughing and high-fiving within minutes. Little moments like that are the ones that stick with me.

Two weeks in and I can already tell this is going to be a season that changes me as much as anything else. Thanks for following along and for all the support — I'll keep you posted as things go.

Sincerely,

Rex Dunlap
